Dr. Vicki Benson

VICKI BENSON, Ph.D. is an assistant professor of literacy at Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, Louisiana.Dr. Benson has worked in elementary education, special education, administration, and leadership development for over 20 years, contributing to local, state, and national education.Dr. Benson is co-author of The Power of Retelling, published by Wright Group/McGraw-Hill, and she developed our national workshop on fiction and nonfiction retelling.Dr. Benson received her doctorate from The University of Alabama, where she earned the Outstanding Dissertation Award for the College of Education for her research on teachers transition to balanced literacy.
