Ms. Valaida Benson

First, we would like to announce the new President of the Michigan State Pageant is Page Gembarski, from Ferndale and we wish her luck in steering the great State of Michigan in the coming years and we welcome Michigan's representative - Valaida Benson, Ms Michigan Senior America 2001 and look forward to seeing her in Las Vegas at the Imperial Palace during the first week in December.Valaida has already entertained at the request of Senior America at a Holiday Retirement Village in Michigan among many other personal appearances.Ms Benson has two children and is a member of the Jazz Network, the African American Museum, the YMCA and with the Women in Action.Valaida's volunteer work includes Volunteers of America, Colin Powell Academy, State Fair Arts Center and other special events for the City of Detroit.She enjoys writing, singing, dancing and directing plays.Ms Valaida Benson, Ms Michigan Senior America 2001 has received several awards including proclamations from the City of Detroit, Certificates of Appreciation from the Reggie McKenzie Foundation and the Bethel House of God.Valaida is planning on singing during her talent presentation a lovely ballad entitled it's "NEVER TOO LATE."Senior America looks forward to meeting and introducing Ms Michigan 2001 Valaida Benson to America.Michigan's 2003 Pageant has not been confirmed as yet!
