This past weekend, September 16-17, 2005, Travis led his team to a 4-0 record and their first ever Championship at the Cy-Creek Jamboree in Houston, Texas.Over the course of the four game, two day event, Travis, a two-year team captain, led his team in goals (14), steals (10), and assists.Travis is currently in his senior year of high school and has led his team to a record of 8-1-1 this season while leading in goals (36), steals (17), and assists throughout the entire campaign.In October, Humble High School will look to improve upon its third place finish from the fall of 2004 at the Texas High School State Championship.
This past summer Travis was also the Team Captain for his 18 & Under Boys Houston Water Polo Club team, which participated in the National Junior Olympics.In San Jose, Travis led the team to its highest finish in club history.In addition to competing for the Houston Water Polo Club, Travis began this summer as a volunteer assistant coach with the developmental programs for the eighth grade and younger athletes.Travis has continued the volunteer coaching this fall and is currently teaching and leading the next generation of players.
Travis participates with the HOPS Men's Team located in Houston , Texas.Last fall, he was the only player under the age of 25 on the HOPS team that competed in the USA Water Polo Open National Championships at the University of Houston.In addition to his club and high school endeavors, Travis competed for the Southwest Zone Team (Born in 1987 & Younger) for the past three years attending National Team Selection Camps along with the National Age Group Championships each of the past three springs and summers.Travis is currently seeking a university that will be challenging academically while also having the opportunity to play with a competitive NCAA water polo program
In the wake of the tragedy of Hurricane Katrina, Travis and his family opened their doors to a family of ten evacuees who stayed with them until arrangements could be made for the family to go back home to Alabama and Louisiana.
