Stephen Benson, West Virginia Strawberry Festival first vice president and band coordinator recently apologized to the Lewis County Marching Band for an article that appeared in the Monday, May 13 issue of the Buckhannon Record Delta, which included information that had not been properly proof read.
The Record Delta staff also apologized for the article.
According to reports, Benson read the first paragraph or two of the information but did not finish reading it.
Among the information included was that LCHS's band practice field was a "cow field over the hill behind our school."
It also noted several other perceived problems with the band program, including less time for summer programs, practice time, and a cutback in members due to block scheduling.
Basically, information that would not be regarded as positive to the LCHS Band program was included in the article.
