    Michele Bennett is a long-time 35-year resident of Longmont and a Colorado native.After graduating from Skyline High School in 1981, she went on to complete an Associate of Applied Science with an emphasis in Electronics.She began a career as an electronic technician and, after a few years, worked her way into an engineering position.Michele worked as an engineer for 13 years and then decided to return to school for a teaching degree.May of 2005, she graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a Middle-School teaching license and a BA in English.

    Michele has taught at Westview Middle School and the Adult Education Center in Longmont.She has also substituted at several of the St. Vrain Valley secondary schools.Michele's philosophy on education is "Education is the foundation for the eradication of prejudice, the inspiration for critical thinking, and the catalyst for communicating ideas and informed opinions."She believes that children are our future's imagination.

    In her "spare time," Michele enjoys hiking, kayaking, landscaping, crafting jewelry, and spending time with her family and friends.She and her family love to travel and are especially fond of camping in remote wilderness areas.Her favorite animal is the moose, and she is forever searching ponds and tree lines for a sign of this elusive animal.
