After a stint in journalism, Henry Bennett has held editorial, design/production, marketing, or publishing management positions with University of California Press, University of Hawai`i, Bishop Museum Press, Pacific Trade Group (now Booklines Hawaii/Islander Group), Independent Resources, and, since 1993, with Kamehameha Schools Press.

He is currently director of Kamehameha Schools Press (a multiple-award-winning educational publisher specializing in Hawaiian history, culture, language, and studies), president of Independent Resources (a book-publishing consultancy), and a founding and continuing member of the Hawai`i Book Publishers Association.
