Henry Bennett is a consultant in the Corporate & Commercial practice.Henry is responsible for educational law and related structural, governance, business and regulatory issues, in relation to both school and tertiary educational institutions, as well as in relation to welfare and ecclesiastical organisations.Henry has served and is serving on a number of their governing bodies and foundations, has been chairman of the Johannesburg College of Education and is the chairman of Independent Schools Association of Southern Africa.Henry also specialises in tax exemption matters and applications, particularly in relation to public benefit organizations and associations.He also supervises the firm's pro bono work, enterprise development initiatives and socio-economic development work.Henry's previous work experience covers civil litigation of all kinds, national and international arbitrations, as well commercial and corporate work for private companies and local subsidiaries of international companies, including serving on local boards to represent overseas shareholders.This has led Henry to be appointed as honorary legal counsel on the executive committee on the Board of Airline Representatives of South Africa.
