Mr. Conte Bennett

The program is under the direction of Conte Bennett. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Music Performance from Truman State University, a master's degree in Jazz Pedagogy, and a doctorate in classical trumpet performance from the University of Miami. He has taught as an adjunct professor at Miami/Dade Community College, James Madison University, Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, Aletheia University in Taiwan.

Mr. Bennett has extensive orchestral, jazz and commercial playing experience. He recorded with KC and the Sunshine Band and toured with KC from 1999-2003 as lead trumpet.

Mr. Bennett attended Pleasant Valley High School.

Mr. Bennett has served on the faculty at Aletheia University, Union Institute and University, Southern Illinois University, and Miami Dade Community College.Mr. Bennett has performed with the Saint Louis Symphony, Taipei Symphony, Florida Philharmonic, Naples Philharmonic, Sioux City Symphony, and the South Dakota Symphony Orchestra.In addition to his symphonic experience, Mr. Bennett toured and recorded with KC and the Sunshine Band from 1999-2003.Mr. Bennett has also performed with such legendary performers as Ray Charles, Franki Valli, Wynton Marsalis, The Manhattan Transfer, The Temptations, and the Woody Herman Orchestra..

Mr. Bennett is a veteran of multiple classical and commercial recordings, and has appeared on the Today Show, American Bandstand, The Tonight Show featuring Jay Leno, Good Morning America, The Rosanne Barr Show, and on a PBS Documentary of the Arturo Sandoval Big Band.
