   Prior to Southwest, from 1993 to 2003, Mr. Benak was part of a team that founded and operated InLight Solutions, Inc., an Albuquerque based medical technology startup whose mission is to provide optical solutions for life sciences applications.As Director of New Business, he negotiated with strategic partners for commercialization of an in vitro cervical cancer screening device and an in vivo alcohol measurement device.Before InLight, Mr. Benak was a staff scientist with the institute for fluid mechanics at the University of Erlangen-Nuernberg.Prior to LSTM, Mr. Benak was a research engineer with Daimler-Benz AG in Germany.Mr. Benak received his B.S. and M.S. degrees from Stanford University in mechanical engineering.

   Mark Benak, Operations ManagerMark manages Novint's corporate operations.He has a strong background in both engineering and entrepreneurship.He graduated from Stanford University with B.S. and M.S. degrees in Mechanical Engineering, with an emphasis in automatic control.He began his career in the Motor Research Department of the Daimler-Benz AG in Stuttgart, Germany, analyzing internal combustion engines and related periphery for the Mercedes.Mark's work then led him to a position as a staff scientist at the Department of Fluid Mechanics at the University of Erlangen-Nuernberg.In 1993, he co-founded Rio Grande Medical Technologies (now InLight Solutions) in Albuquerque, New Mexico, a biomedical device company dedicated to revolutionizing the way medicine is practiced by providing non-invasive measurement technologies for a variety of bodily analytes and disease states.More recently, Mark was a partner in Zircle, a new business model for commercializing technologies from our national laboratories.
