Dr. Philip Bell is currently a consultant, specializing in the scientific, strategic, and tactical evaluation of drug discovery and development projects.He has broad experience in the areas of vitamin and hormone action, endocrine cancer therapeutics, and metabolic diseases.Previously, Dr. Bell was Global Therapeutic Area Head, Metabolic and Cardiovascular Diseases Research at Novartis Pharma Research, East Hanover, New Jersey.
Dr. Bell received his undergraduate education at the University of Oxford and his PhD, in biochemistry, from the University of London, UK.During his career he has held positions with the Medical Research Council in London and Cambridge, England, and with the University of Wales College of Medicine in Cardiff, Wales.He was Senior Associate Director of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in the Metabolic Diseases Department of the Sandoz Research Institute, East Hanover, New Jersey, and Executive Director of Molecular and Cellular Biology, Metabolic and Cardiovascular Diseases Research, Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation, Summit, New Jersey.
Dr. Bell has authored over 70 publications in scientific journals.
