Christmas Carols are sung from hymn sheets provided by Philip, but most important of all is the silver ensemble, (brass band to those of us from the south) which was arranged again this year by Jim Barham.
    ...
Philip shouted "come on CranMog, all hands to the marquee" and so the many helpers were able to ensure no damage was done to our valuable instruments.
    ...
The prize for `My Body is Temple' was awarded to Philip Bell for his concentrated efforts since September to stay off the beer!
    ...
But we must have made an impression as halfway through the afternoon Philip Bell was requested to organise a parade of Morgans in the Display Ring as the organisers had decided that our Club epitomised the `Spirit of the Show'.
    ...
Philip reported on behalf of all who attended that Quentin and Ann English had excelled themselves with the organisation of this event again and our thanks go to them.
    ...
Normally we go to Philip & Judy's house but its nice to see someone else helping out and making us all feel welcome - well done John & Sandra. After coffee, we went to the River Mill Tavern at Eaton Socon for lunch and a couple of beers. And that's it, a very busy weekend for most of us especially Judy and Philip Bell, thank you both and all the helpers very much.
    ...
Most people in the meeting said that they though it was much better than the Royal Oak and they could actually hear what was being said, that may help Philip as he doesn't have to strain his voice to be heard anymore.
    ...
Philip usually takes about an hour to recount the activities of the past year and this was no exception. Where would we be without Philip, well in a year's time we may find out because as most of you already know, Philip is threatening not to stand for election as Chairman of the Premier Centre in 2007, so make the most of the next 12 months folks. Sadly, due to ill health JC did not stand this year for Secretary, but he is recovering well from his stroke and can turn up to meetings now.

    ...
Alison Holmes has now retired from the Regalia Officer role, and as we didn't have any nominations to take over the job, Philip will run down the stocks, unless anybody wants to volunteer.
    ...
Talking of great works, JD and Philip presented JC with commemorative framed certificate and a Television in recognition of the 28 years he has served CranMog as Secretary.

    ...
On a hot summer's day in 1970 in Melbourne, Australia, Philip and Judy were looking out of the window of their home and saw a magnificent British Sports Car drive past - a Morgan Plus Eight.
    ...
Tantalisingly, this car drove by several times during the next few months and Philip and Judy became determined that when they
    ...
At this time Philip joined the General Insurance Agency and set up the very first Morgan Insurance Scheme. Of course, he persuaded his partners that it was absolutely essential to have a Morgan as an office car and so in 1979 a brand new Morgan 4/4 four seater was purchased, painted in the striking colours of yellow and black with yellow wire wheels. This was a fantastic car and served as every day transport for over ten years.

Philip Bell at an monthly open meeting In 1972 Philip attended the very first informal CranMog meeting, Judy was told it wasn't for "girls".
    ...
The next meeting was a the Swan Revived at Newport Pagnell where Judy and Philip met John Crummie and Laurie and Cecile for the first time and have remained firm friends ever since and have all been active members of the club throughout the years.
    ...
Philip took over the onerous responsibility of Chairman of CranMog in 1979 and has remained in that position having only one year off in 27 years, until standing down in 2007. Philip has of course now been appointed President of the CranMog centre, taking over from John Donovan who has retired from that post.
    ...
In 1988 when their children were more or less grown up Philip and Judy decided they wanted more power and so purchased a Morgan Plus Eight, a beautiful black car with black upholstery.
    ...
The Bells ran both the Morgans for several years, however the time came with the advancing years when Philip needed a more comfortable ear so sold the 4/4 and purchased a Jaguar.
    ...
Philip and Judy have very much enjoyed their involvement with Morgan Sports Cars which is a wonderful way of making new friends.
    ...
At the 2007 AGM, Philip retired as CranMog Chairman and was nominated Centre President, so no more "Come on chaps, take this seriously" at the OMs. He is now enjoying the slower pace of life with just an occasional "Premier Centre", but when driving the Plus 8 of course its still "Foot on the Boards".
