Dan started his medical "interest" in 1974 when he became a member of the National Ski Patrol.Leaving the patrol in 1976, he became a certified PSIA ski instructor but continued his medical interest by completing the Wisconsin State EMT-Basic program in 1978.Dan was a volunteer firefighter/EMT on the Mayville Fire Department and EMS until 1988 when he retired to complete his graduate degree.In 1995, Dan became a member of the Mayville Police, Fire and EMS Commission where he is now the secretary.Dan also completed the National Registry First Responder program in 2002.In 2002 Dan was appointed the State of Wisconsin Director of Homeland Defense and Disaster Relief for the Wisconsin Civil Air Patrol where Dan holds the rank of Lt Colonel.Dan is a Regional Sales Manager for The Vollrath Company LLC of Sheboygan, Wisconsin.He is also an Adjunct Faculty member for Marian College of Fond du Lac in the School of Business.Dan has acted in numerous community theatre productions and has had roles in five (5) independent films since 2001.

During the summer months, Dan works as a forest firefighter with the Fish and Wildlife Service.Dan is an Incident Commander, Squad Boss and Helicopter Crew Member (Helitack).Dan has fought 5 major western fires since 2000.

Dan's motorcycling career started in 1964 when he purchased his first Honda 50 and has ridden all types through the years.Dan currently has a 2002 Yamaha Road Star "Midnight Star" and is the "Tail Gunner" for the Green Bay Star Riders Group Chapter #126.

Dan holds a BA from the University of Wisconsin/Oshkosh and an MBA from Cardinal Stritch University of Milwaukee.
