    Bell Potter's chief executive, Colin Bell, says he was surprised by Advent's decision.

    "We're one of their biggest clients, and we were certainly surprised by the whole thing," he told ZDNet Australia.

    He indicated that the company was likely to ditch the Advent solution in the long term.

    "We can't be reliant on system support coming out of [Los Angeles]," he said.
