   Charlotte Bell , M.D. , is an Associate Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology , Section of Pediatric Anesthesiology , Yale University School of Medicine.She has also worked extensively in emergency medicine and surgery.Dr. Bell is a practicing clinical anesthesiologist and attending physician for the Community Medical Van , a project of Yale University that delivers continuity health care primarily to uninsured patients of Greater New Haven.
   
   Dr. Bell is recognized for her work in pediatric anesthesiology and for research in the user-interface aspect of technology in new and unusual applications.Her research interests include the efficacy and reliability of pediatric monitoring devices , information-seeking behavior in electronic environments , and electronic educational systems for health care.She is actively engaged in projects that integrate technology and education , including the development of an electronic core curriculum for anesthesiology.
   
   The Associate Director of GASNet , the Global Anesthesiology Server Network , Dr. Bell also does consultant work for Internet health care systems and equipment companies.
   
   Dr. Bell is the senior editor of the Pediatric Anesthesia Handbook , which has become the authoritative guide for the specialty.She serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of Clinical Monitoring and Computing , and the Survey of Anesthesiology , and is a reviewer for Critical Care Medicine , Anesthesiology , and the Journal of Clinical Anesthesia.She is national secretary of the Society for Technology in Anesthesia and chairs the Society's Pediatric Equipment and Technology Subcommittee.
