Candace Lynn Bell is a Partner with Kavinoky Cook LLP. Ms. Bell works primarily with corporate clients both in the United States and Canada, advising companies on intellectual property matters in the United States, including, matters in front of the United States Patent and Trademark Office, trademark and unfair competition litigation and Internet domain name disputes including arbitration under the ICANN Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy. Ms. Bell is involved in matters of trademark and copyright registration and protection, domain name protection, establishment and management of intellectual property portfolios, assignment and transfer of intellectual property in mergers and acquisitions, and the preparation of intellectual property licenses law and other e-commerce agreements. Ms. Bell has successfully prosecuted domain name complaints under the ICANN policy since its inception.
Ms. Bell graduated from Franklin and Marshall College in 1987 with a Bachelors Degree in History and Economics. Ms. Bell received her Juris Doctor degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1990. Ms. Bell is a member of the American Bar Association, Intellectual Property Section, the New York State Bar Association, Intellectual Property Law Section and the Erie County Bar Association, Intellectual Property, Computer and Entertainment Law Committee. An avid historic home restorationist, Ms. Bell is currently Vice President of the Parkside Community Association, a not-for-profit group working on behalf of Parkside, a National Historic Register Neighborhood. Ms. Bell has also chaired the Association's Annual Tour of Homes in 2004, 2006 and 2007. She is currently chair for the tenth anniversary tour scheduled for May 2008. -
