I think everyone who has lived in Robertson County very long knows of Carney Bell at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield.He is the son of Robert H. Bell mentioned previously.

Carney graduated from Springfield High School in 1951.He served as a page in Congress for Congressman Albert Gore in 1949.Carney attended Tennessee Tech University from 1951 to 1953 and then in October joined the U.S. Navy as an aviation cadet.His training took place in Pensacola, Fla. and Corpus Christi, Texas.He received his wings in 1955.
