   Carmen is a great asset to her community. She is a lifelong resident of Penn Hills & has been a member of Covenant Church of Pittsburgh since 1986. Carmen has cared for 18 foster children & is the proud mom of Tanisha Caputo & grandmother to Michael Carmen Caputo, age 6.
   ...
   Carmen graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Social Work. She has spent her career working & caring for the community. She founded The Pittsburgh Family Development Center in Braddock in 1998. The center helps families in crisis by supporting mothers from pregnancy through baby's first year. Tangible support is given in the form of clothing, diapers, parenting classes & other education. Pregnancy testing is available on site & the center is open to any woman. More than 3500 families have been served since the center opened; 75 pregnant women received services in 2005. To learn more about the organization visit them online at http://pghfamily.org. Carmen is most proud that her foster children have all come to know the Lord. Her favorite accomplishment was assisting with the delivery of her grandson at Magee-Womens Hospital.
   
   Her favorite bible verse is "I can do all through Christ who Strengthens Me.",Philippians 4:13.
