Case Reviewer Benny Bell spoke on progress of the Consumer Satisfaction Survey mailed November 6, 2001.Of the 1,356 surveys sent, 456 or 36.4% of the surveys have been returned.Responses so far are mostly positive.Mr. Bell will submit a full report during the March 9, 2002 Board Meeting.

Board Member Searcy Ewell expressed concern that Orientation and Mobility (O & M) skills should be taught to all blind and visually impaired consumers.O & M instruction is provided by DSB either through contractors qualified to provide the services or through qualified DSB staff members.Eligible DSB consumers should contact their counselor if they have O & M needs.

2001 DSB CONSUMER SURVEY REPORT -Benny Bell, DSB Case Reviewer, presented the results of the annual consumer satisfaction survey, a copy of which was read into the record and is attached as a formal part of the minutes.90% of VR consumers and 93% of LIFE consumers were satisfied with DSB services.
