Alex Bell serves as partner and vice president of the insurance industry . She is responsible for the overall direction and growth of Blackwells insurance industry business including client acquisition and relationship management, people management, partnership development and overall customer satisfaction and retention.With more than 15 years experience in IT and management consulting, Alex's long-term approach enables customers to improve their overall business performance and financial results.She has a passion for customers and partners, and a commitment to Blackwell's growth.Alex sits on the senior leadership team at Blackwell and is one of the owners of the company.
Prior to this position, Alex was vice president of sales at Blackwell.Under Alex's leadership, the Blackwell sales team increased revenues at an average rate of 35 percent each year.She has been instrumental in positioning and marketing Blackwell's solution offerings, developing sales and marketing strategies to move the company into several strategic sectors, including the public sector, which is one of Blackwell's most serviced sectors.
Prior to joining Blackwell, Alex was a business consultant at Andersen Consulting (Accenture).While there, she was part of the team that developed the internal Lotus Notes based knowledge exchange, a knowledge management vehicle used by the 65,000 employees of Andersen (Accenture).Additionally, she was also part of a team representing Andersen (Accenture) for the prestigious Malcolm Baldridge Award.Alex began her career at IBM, working in the application solutions marketing group.
Education and AssociationsAlex graduated from Drexel University in 1991 with a bachelor's degree in finance and marketing.She has been featured in Workforce Diversity magazine, and has given many presentations and speeches on IT.She was the first recipient of the Blackwell President's Award, which is given to the person who contributes the most outstanding performance to the company for the year.
Alex also taught adult education classes in technology usage at Evanston High School.She served as the director of marketing and member services for the Symposium for Information Management (SIM), is a member of Chicago Women in Technology, Executives' Club of Chicago and sits on the board of Herzing College.
