Ty Belknap, is a member of the Port Clinton High School Class of 1968. While in high school he participated in Wrestling and Tennis, earning 4 Varsity Letters in Wrestling. Other wrestling honors include GLL Champion 1966, 1967, 1968; MVP of GLL Wrestling Tournament 1968; Sectional and District Champion 1966, 1967, 1968; State Qualifier 1966, 1967, 1968; State Runner-up 1967, 1968; MVP of PC Team 1966, 1967, 1968. He was Co-Captain for PCHS Team in 1968 and held a Career Record of 79-15. After graduation he attended the University of Michigan to continue wrestling. At U of M he earned a Varsity letter in 1970, Placed 4th at the Big Ten Tournament in 1970, Wrestled for US Army Team in 1972.
