   Barbara Belk, Ph.D., is a Corporate Psychologist with over 20 years of experience in professional and personal development, group facilitation, and public speaking. She has served in management and administrative roles in a variety of corporate, academic and nonprofit settings. Barbara began her career as an educator and coach. She then worked for a banking institution providing management training, program development and staff development. After several years, Barbara ran a non-profit organization and was appointed as trainer for N.Y. Police to diffuse life-endangering situations. After Dr. Belk obtained the Ph.D. in psychology, she held various roles including researcher, staff psychologist and health care administrator. During this time she realized her passion and capacity to develop staff, leadership, and strategic direction. During the past 7 years as an independent consultant Dr. Belk has successfully worked with a variety of industries including: Commercial Construction, Environmental Engineering, Computer Software and Manufacturing, B2B Project Management, Banking, Healthcare, Pharmaceuticals, Publishing, Academic Institutions, National Associations, and Private Professional Clients. She successfully partners with clients to address professional success challenges at leadership levels ranging from Director to CEO/CFO/Owner and Executive Boards. Barbara has a Ph.D. and M.A. in Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology and a B.S. in Education from Moorhead University with intensive language studies at the University of Seville, Spain and Veracruz University, Mexico. To augment her leadership and coaching skills she completed the Essential Management Skills Certification Program through Kaiser Permanente. In addition, Barbara attended the College of Executive Coaching, specifically geared for individuals with advanced degrees. In addition to her role as a business owner and consultant, Dr. Belk serves as the Executive Director for the Management Institute of Leadership Excellence for executives at "The Institute" in Silicon Valley. Dr. Belk is an associate of Global Leadership Alliance, specializing in Public/Private Construction Partnering Sessions. She is also a national speaker, providing expertise on professional development and corporate psychology topics. Dr. Belk is a founding member of the Association of Strategic Planning.

Dr. Belk serves on the steering committee of the East Bay Women in Business and is an alumna of and advisory board member for Leadership Oakland, a program to develop future leaders through the Oakland Chamber of Commerce.
