MILLBURY, Alec Belisle prides himself on being the only 65-year-old Ph.D. in Worcester County with a paper route.

Mr. Belisle retired from teaching at Becker College last year, and recently he has decided it's time to give up the paper route as well.

Publisher of The Millbury-Sutton Chronicle, Mr. Belisle and his wife, Andree Belisle, the editor, have sold the 21-year-old weekly to The Holden Landmark Corp.

Later, the paper moved to the enclosed porch area, and ultimately to 117 Elm St. Their son, Alec, was the paper's photographer and advertising representative for a while.

The paper is printed on Wednesdays, the only day that offered the Belisles any rest, and was delivered on Thursdays.

"Some Wednesdays, we would just drive to New York and back again just to relax," said Mrs. Belisle.

Now the couple plan to see more than just the New York state line.While the couple plan to travel, Mrs. Belisle also plans to spend more time gardening and Mr. Belisle more time woodworking.

Mr. Belisle has been a significant force at the agency for the past 4 1/2 years.Initially serving as Traffic Manager, and then moving on to Account Coordinator, he has managed all aspects of client services as well as media relations.

Prior to his arrival at Davis, Mr. Belisle served as Advertising Manager for eight years at the Millbury/Sutton Chronicle, and was a Residential Counselor for three years at the Center for Human Development in Westborough Department of Youth Services.A graduate of Becker College with a BA in Criminal Justice Administration, Mr. Belisle lives in Worcester with his wife and two young children.

Alex understands the workings of the agency intimately , when he arrived here in the late ,90s, he was hired as our first Traffic Director.It wasn't long before he put his many talents to further use as an Account Coordinator.He was promoted to Account Executive in 2002, and now serves a wide range of our automotive clients, serving markets throughout New England.

A lifelong resident of Worcester County, Alex developed his advertising and promotion chops working for the Millbury Sutton Chronicle as Advertising Manager (as well as Reporter and Photographer).Additionally, he developed invaluable human relations and stress management skills during his three years as Counselor for the Massachusetts Department of Youth Services.

Alex is a force in the kitchen, where he readily entertains and feeds his wife and two young boys.And, yes, recently he was spotted on a spring 2006 episode of "Emeril Live."
