Barbara graduated summa cum laude from the State University of New York College at Geneseo with a B.S. in Accounting in 1990.She received her J.D., magna cum laude, in 1994 and her M.B.A., with distinction, in 1995 from the State University of New York at Buffalo.Prior to joining Bergen & Parkinson, Barbara was a tax practitioner at a national public accounting firm and a law firm, both located in Portland, Maine.

Barbara is an adjunct faculty member at the University of Southern Maine School of Business where she teaches taxation, commercial law and professional ethics to both undergraduate and graduate students.She is a Director of the Animal Welfare Society in West Kennebunk, Maine, and a member of the Board of Advisors of the Thomas College Master of Science in Taxation program.

Barbara is admitted to practice law in Maine and New York.She is also a Certified Public Accountant in Maine.
