   Belew named new SID at Missouri Southern
   
   J.R. Belew is the new sports information director at Missouri Southern, athletics director Sallie Beard has announced.
   ...
   Belew has been the athletics media relations assistant the last four years at Truman State in Kirksville. At Truman State, he was the primary media contact for volleyball and men's basketball and was responsible for maintaining the Bulldogs' athletics Web site.
   
   He has received four CoSIDA citations in the last two years for publications excellence, including a best in the nation honor for Truman State's 2002 men's track and field media guide. He currently serves as South Central Region coordinator for the Daktronics Division II All-America volleyball team.
   
   Belew, 30, is a 1995 graduate of Central Missouri State. He and his wife, Jada, have two children, Braden, 4, and Kenna, 2.
   
   Belew replaces Joe Moore, who resigned in July to accept a position at Central Missouri State.
