"Kids are going to see it again and not understand that this could evoke these kind of feelings," he said. "They could have a bad day, conceivably act out at school or home. Give them the chance to talk about the way it was."
Veterans likely will replay the trauma more than others, Belcher said. They, too, need to talk about their emotions.
"You're going to see and feel the same way you did then," he said.
