Jasmine is studying the treatment-induced immune responses to lymphoma.Any cytotoxic cancer therapy that induces tumor cell death by lysis or apoptosis could potentially actuate an immune response by releasing tumor antigens to the immune system. She is looking at the antibody repertoire of lymphoma patients at timepoints before, during and after treatment to identify antigens against which patients mount an antibody response as a result of their standard treatment. As a result, she hopes to identify potential targets for immunotherapy.
Jasmine is also involved in a collaborative study with the Genome Sciences Centre in Vancouver, BC.This group is performing complete genomic analyses of 24 lymphoma tumors. She will study the patients, immune responses to their cancer. We will then integrate the data sets to more fully understand the interactions between the tumor and the host and the impact of this interaction on clinical outcome.
Jasmine is also participating in the Weekend to End Breast Cancer, her goal is to raise $2000 to support breast cancer research in B.C.If you would like more information on this event or would like to support Jasmine please go to the website and click on Vancouver Islanders
Current Status
