Alejandro Bekes
Alejandro Bekes was born in Santa Fe (city and province), Argentina on July 25, 1959. Since 1969 he has lived in Concordia, in the neighboring province of Entre Ríos. He is a professor of Spanish, Literature, and Latin, having taken his degree from the Instituto del Profesorado "Concordia" [Concordia Institute of Teaching] in 1984. He is a professor of General Linguistics and Spanish Language at the Universidad de Entre Ríos, and professor of Language and Analysis of Discourse at the Escuela Media Provincial "Jorge Luis Borges" [Jorge Luis Borges Provincial Middle School]. He has taught Theory of Language and of the History of Iberoamerican Literature on the Faculty of Social Sciences (1991-1995) and was Interim Rector of the Jorge Luis Borges School (2002-2003). He has published several volumes of poetry and essays in Spanish, as well as a variety of academic work, articles, and translations. This is his first publication in English.
