Matthew D. Bekerman is an associate in the firm's Corporate department, where he focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions, finance, and general corporate matters.

During law school, Mr. Bekerman worked as a summer tax associate with Coopers & Lybrand, L.L.P. in the area of financial services.Prior to joining Baker Botts, Mr. Bekerman was a corporate associate in the New York office of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom.

Mr. Bekerman received his J.D., cum laude, from Harvard Law School in 1995.He earned his B.A., with university honors, in economics and Law and Society, from the State University of New York at Binghamton in 1992, where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.

Mr. Bekerman is a member of the Houston Young Lawyers Association, the Houston Bar Association and the State Bar of Texas.Mr. Bekerman is licensed in Texas and New York.
