Dennis &. Bekah

On the same day that Dennis arrives in the States, our new short-term teacher Shelly Andal is scheduled to arrive to start as a kindergarten teacher at the International School! We are very encouraged that she is coming, but a bit concerned when we learned toward the end of July that she only had found 38 % of the financial support she needs.

Bekah and Sarah's last day as counselors at Camp Haluwasa in South Jersey.They have had a great time.Bekah told us that she has led some girls to Christ! Sarah was excited about sharing helpful Bible verses with kids going through the kinds of problems that she has already experienced.

SATURDAY AUGUST 12 :Dennis drives Bekah and Sarah to Eastern Pennsylvania to begin a week-long retreat for missionary kids.Some of their friends from Abidjan will be attending this too.Pray that this would be a helpful time of reentry into the American scene for both of them.

Dennis attends his home church with his Mom in Gloversville, NY where he will be staying until Friday, enjoying time with family and friends.Back in Abidjan, Barb is starting English lessons today with a friend who is eager to learn conversational English with an American accent.

Dennis leaves his Mom real early, picks up the girls after their retreat, then they head for South Jersey where Bekah will have some wisdom teeth removed.Please pray for Bekah as she goes through this, that there would be no complications and that she would recover quickly.

SUNDAY AUGUST 20 :Dennis, Bekah and Sarah head for the Newark, NJ airport where Sarah will board a jet and head back to Abidjan to begin her senior year at the International School.Please pray as she will be traveling alone that she would sense God's presence.

MONDAY AUGUST 21 :Mike begins the 2000-01 school year at the International School, Sarah arrives in Abidjan, and Dennis & Bekah enjoy a day with Dennis' family in Gloversville, NY.

TUESDAY AUGUST 22 :Dennis & Bekah head for the Boston area to touch base with friends and make purchases for school.

WEDNESDAY AUGUST 23 :Sarah starts school in Abidjan, and Dennis & Bekah drive back to Barb's folks in South Jersey.

Dennis attends an all-day orientation program with Bekah at Philadelphia College of Bible, where she will in the elementary education program.

MONDAY AUGUST 28 :Rebekah begins her college career at PCB.Pray that her first week goes well.

FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 1 :Dennis picks up Bekah, and they spend Labor Day weekend with Barb's folks.

WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 6 :Dennis leaves the States and returns to Abidjan the next day.

Whew! we will all need special strength for this busy month! Thanks for praying for us.
