    A native of Kosovo, Kujtese studied international relations and economics at Stanford University and is now pursuing a Master in Public Administration in International Development at the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University.     In 1998, as conflict intensified in Kosovo, Kujtesa Bejtullahu began sending emails about her experience to a pen pal in California that were read and widely aired on American television and radio stations and earned her the name "Anne Frank of the Balkans." As an international relations and economics major at Stanford University, Ms. Bejtullahu also worked as a research assistant in themes of civil wars at the Center for International Security and Cooperation. In 2002, she founded the World Refugee Academy and led a team of Stanford students to a refugee camp in Botswana to conduct educational work. Ms. Bejtullahu was a media officer for the 2003 and 2004 World Economic Forum in Switzerland and Jordan and has led and facilitated a number of youth initiatives in Kosovo, such as the 2001 Kosovo Youth Congress and the YouthLink Leadership Institute. She has served as editor in chief and member of the board of directors of the Postpessimists Youth Association in Prishtina and as board adviser for Balkans YouthLink, a San Fransisco-based NGO. In the summer of 2004, Ms. Bejtullahu joined the office of the Prime Minister in Kosovo, assisting his economic adviser.
