   David Bejarano Co-owner/President of Presidential Security Service David joins the Foundation with over 25years of experience with the San Diego Police Department, including service as the first Hispanic Chief of Police from 1999-2003. During his service, he implemented the Neighborhood Policing Restructuring Project and established a Binational Task Force. David was formally recognized at federal and local levels for his efforts in reducing border violence and forging international law enforcement partnerships, and is the former Presidential Appointee U.S. Marshall for the Southern District of California. He holds a BA in Business Administration and is a 1997 graduate of the FBI National Academy, and a 1998 graduate of the FBI Southwest Command College. His community board service includes Casa Familiar, The Children's Initiative, the Family Literacy Foundation, and board of director of the San Diego County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

   Mr. Bejarano has served the greater San Diego community in various leadership positions with the San Diego Police Department, US Marshals Service, and various community based organizations. He started his public service with the SDPD in 1979 and in 1989 was appointed the first "Latino" Police Chief for the City of San Diego. In 2003, he was appointed the US Marshal for the Southern District of California by President Bush. During his tenures with these large municipal and federal agencies, he managed budgets in excess of $260 million dollars and provided progressive leadership for over 3000 personnel with SDPD. Mr. Bejarano has been recognized locally and nationally for his leadership, organizational management skills, and building professional relationships with all segments of the community.
   
   Beyond his professional contributions to the community, he has worked tirelessly with a myriad of community based social service organizations. These agencies focus primarily on services for at-risk and/or disadvantaged youths and families (La Cuna, Jackie Robinson YMCA, Neighborhood House Assn., Casa Familiar, Children's Initiative, etc.).
   
   As a Latino leader, he has been recognized as one of San Diego's "people to watch" and acknowledged by Hispanic Business Magazine as one of the 100 most influential Hispanics (1999).
   
   In October, 2005, Mr. Bejarano assumed ownership interest in Millenia Security Services (MSS) and the position of President. He will be responsible for all business and field operations for MSS. MSS is a San Diego based company providing security services for special events, businesses, homeowner associations, private investigations, governmental agencies, executive protection, and crisis management training. The company has revenues in excess of $ 5 million dollars and employs approximately 200 employees.
   
   Mr. Bejarano is excited about the opportunity to bring proven leadership and a commitment to do what's in the best interest of the business community, to enhance business opportunities for SDCHCC members. He will also be able to use established professional relationships on both of sides of the border for the benefit of the business community. Mr. Bejarano has a degree in Business Administration and is bilingual.
