Bejarano, a public entity Attorney, grew up in Baldwin Park and attended BPUSD public schools."Growing up in Baldwin Park, I derived many positive learning experiences. This City helped shape the man that I have become, and I'm grateful for that. The community has always been supportive of all of my endeavors. From the scholarship I received from the BP woman's club in high school, to the encouragement I received from residents throughout college and law school, I've always felt that Baldwin Park has supported my success. Now, I'm at a point in my life where I can give back to this community by serving in public office," said Bejarano."My experiences in college, law school, as an attorney and as a planning commissioner, make me confident that I have much to contribute to my city."Bejarano, a product of Baldwin Park schools, received his Bachelor's Degree from Georgetown University and his Juris Doctorate from the University of San Diego, School of Law."I feel that Baldwin Park is at a crossroads in development, and with the soaring prices of real estate, we have to effectively market our high profile commercial real estate," he added."We have some of the few remaining freeway frontage properties that are not currently developed and it's imperative to our city's future that we develop those properties, not only for today's popularity, but for what will strengthen our city for decades to come."Bejarano wants to take his experience of being a planning commissioner and public entity Attorney to provide competent and informed leadership at what he feels is a most crucial time of the city's development. "I believe that it's really easy to get caught up in the fervor of development, but it's important that we not forget our roots and include the people and businesses that have made this city what it is, in future developments," he added.Bejarano has done his homework, as his chief concerns for Baldwin Park include future minded redevelopment, strengthening the police department, finding innovative ways to provide traditional services for residents in light of the budget constraints, and senior citizen programs."Seniors are the backbone of our community. They give us a sense of history and a sense of legitimacy because they've seen how our city has developed," he said."Vision is more than what would be good for Baldwin Park for the next five years. We need to be looking at the bigger picture. We have to realize that long term is more important than instant revenue. We can't make decisions with a five year plan in mind, but rather, a fifty year plan," Bejarano added.
