   Marissa Bejar was born and raised in Lima, Perú. She received a BA in Sociology from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú where she also studied acting and theatre arts. Marissa moved to New York in 1999 and enrolled in the New School University, where she earned an MA in Media Studies.
   
   Marissa's directing credits have mainly focused on new writing, and she has directed plays in Latin America, New York and Europe. She has been part of the Lincoln Center Directors Lab, the International Residency for Playwrights and Directors at the Royal Court Theatre in London, the Scoula Europea per l'arte dell'attore in San Miniato, Italy, and the International Residency for Playwrights and Theater Directors at Casa América in Madrid, Spain.
   
   Marissa has extensive experience as a freelance translator, editor, and writer for numerous educational programs in math, literature, and social studies.
