During an emotion-filled presentation, Connie Beitter from DOT was awarded the honor for 1996-97.
The award is determined through nomination from peers.Connie's nomination write-up portrayed her as a leader, coach and professional.She was recognized for the several months in 1996 when she became Acting Director of the Training Bureau in DOT.She served in this capacity willingly and enthusiastically, without any monetary benefit.
Connie is a leader in the Training Council as well.She has co-chaired the Annual Institute for two years and held the post of Chair of the Council in 1993-94.
Connie received a plaque symbolizing the honor, and another plaque listing all winners of the Schwadron Award is located in the lobby at 44 Holland Avenue in Albany.

Western NY Chapter congratulates Connie Beitter on her receipt of the Maurice Schwadron Memorial Award - From your friends in Buffalo and Rochester.
We had our first two WNY Chapter training programs in Buffalo, Innovations and Customer Service Workshop and Making Change Work for You Workshop, with the help of G.O.E.R. and DOT's trainers.Class participants were from DOT, DOL, OMH, and Tax & Finance.We are now in the planning stage to do two additional programs, with hope of getting some new recruits for our chapter.
