Martin Beirne, 50, of San Marcos, Texas, and Spring Lake, N.J., and a former resident of Charlottesville, Va., died Monday, June 16, 2003, at his home in Texas.
For many years Mr. Beirne worked in the publishing business in a variety of capacities including advertising director for The World of Hibernia and publisher of Securities Industry Daily, both in New York.
A graduate of the Hill School in Pottstown, Pa., he was secretary of his class alumni association. He also was an alumnus of the University of Virginia in Charlottesville and a member of the Yale Club in New York. He was a talented writer, pianist, singer and composer. Beloved by his extended family and many friends, he is deeply missed.
He is survived by his parents, Dr. and Mrs. Donald P. Beirne of Spring Lake, N.J.; a sister and brother-in-law, Dr. Mary Frances Beirne and Patrick Golden of Island Heights, N.J.; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald Peter Jr., and Donna Beirne of Columbus, Ohio, Brian and Eileen Beirne, of Island Heights, and Daniel and Rebecca Beirne of Charlottesville, Va. He also leaves an aunt, Maryalice Maguire of South Belmar, N.J.; five nephews; four nieces; as well as many godchildren.
