   WALTHAM, Mass., Oct. 18, 2006 - Walden Behavioral Care, LLC announced today that Ward E. Bein, M.D. of Acton has been appointed to the position of Staff Physician for Psychiatric Services.
   
   Dr. Bein also has a private practice in Acton and previously served as Chief of Services at the University of Massachusetts' Adolescent Unit at Westboro State Hospital. Before that, he served as Medical Director of the Adolescent Unit at Taunton State Hospital. He has also served as Medical Director of The Home for Little Wanderers in Boston, and as Medical Director and Staff Psychiatrist for the Adolescent Unit, Women's Unit and Day Hospital of Charles River Hospital, Wellesley.
   
   Dr. Bein has held academic appointments as a clinical fellow and associate at Harvard University, and as a clinical associate at Boston University.
   
   Dr. Bein graduated from the School of Medicine at State University of New York, Stony Brook, where he had a sub-internship at Payne Whitney and psychiatric rotations at Long Island Jewish-Hillside Hospital and Stony Brook University Hospital. His psychiatry residency training took place at the Harvard Medical School/Massachusetts Mental Health Center. He earned a bachelor's degree from Dartmouth College.
   
   He plays bass guitar professionally in various rock and jazz bands.
