   Karen Beier is the Vice President, Risk Management for Shaklee Corporation, a distributor of nutritional, household and personal care products, as well as water and air purification devices.Karen is responsible for managing the global insurance and self-insurance programs, providing risk management services, supervising claims administration and leading the crisis management team.Prior to joining Shaklee in 1984, she was a Risk Analyst for six years with Natomas Company, a diverse energy resource company.
   
   Karen has held nearly every position on the RIMS Golden Gate Board over the last 20 years and is currently Vice President-Programs.She has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Society for the past three years and continues for the May 1, 2004-2007 term.She also chaired the Conference Programming Committee for the 2000 San Francisco and 1999 Dallas RIMS Conferences.Karen holds the Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designation.
