   Budgeteer News advertising director Aaron Becher has been named Twin Ports advertising director.
   
   In his new position, Becher will assume the management responsibilities of the advertising staffs at both the Daily Telegram in Superior and the Budgeteer.
   
   "This step will allow us to capitalize on the strengths of both staffs and create a more effective way for the business community to promote themselves in the Telegram and Budgeteer, as well as in our other newspapers throughout the Northland," Becher said.
   
   The Telegram and Budgeteer News are owned by Murphy McGinnis Media, which owns 16 newspapers in northern Wisconsin and Minnesota. Becher, who has a degree in public relations and communications from the University of Northern Iowa, has worked in newspaper advertising for 11 years. Before joining Murphy McGinnis six years ago, he owned the Thursday Post, a weekly newspaper in Owatonna, and was an advertising representative for the daily newspaper, The Owatonna People's Press. He has worked closely with the Budgeteer News for six years, the last three years as its advertising director.
   
   "Aaron knows our Twin Ports customers, and he brings plenty of energy and determination to this new position," said Tom West, publisher of the Budgeteer News.
