PAUL-EMILE BEAULNE, Vice-PresidentMr. Beaulne is the outgoing executive vice-president of Radiomutuel inc.He is known for introducing creative radio and television programming that is enriching for the community.Since 1960, he has played an active part in several communications companies.In 1999, Mr. Beaulne was also presented with the Gold Ribbon Award by the Canadian Association of Broadcasters in recognition of his excellent performance in this field.

Establishment of the new agency was announced at a news conference this morning by Pierre Roy, President and CEO of Les Réseaux Premier Choix, the Astral subsidiary that operates Canal D, and Paul-Emile Beaulne, Executive Vice-President of Radiomutuel and President and Chief Operating Officer of Canal Vie.

Mr. Beaulne will serve as Chairman of TVPLUS MEDIA.While TVPLUS MEDIA will initially represent Canal D and Canal Vie, it will take on the task of promoting specialty television generally as "an excellent advertising vehicle with which to reach niche markets," said Mr. Beaulne."We believe specialty television represents an excellent way to target specific audiences, and we hope to add other specialty broadcasters to our roster."Canal D, which specializes in documentaries, has an audience composed mainly of male viewers aged 25 - 54.Canal Vie reaches a majority of women in the 25 - 54 range with a line-up of programming dealing with health and lifestyle issues.The Astral Broadcasting Group is currently involved on its own, or with partners, in 14 English or French broadcast licences.These include the pay-per-view networks Viewer's Choice Canada and Canal Indigo; the pay networks TMN - The Movie Network, MOVIEPIX and Super Ecran: and the specialty services Family Channel, Teletoon, Canal Famille and Canal D. All services are available on cable or satellite.Astral is also involved in video marketing and manufacturing and technical services for the film and television industry.
