Mr. Beam was born and reared in Bardstown, Ky., son of the late T. R. Beam Sr. and Nellie Green Beam.

Mr. Beam attended the University of Louisville.He retired as the owner and operator of Beam Equipment Co. of Southeast Alabama.Mr. Beam formerly lived in Dothan before moving to Lake Eufaula in 1990.He was a member of the Fort Gaines Presbyterian Church and also was a life member of the Elks Lodge in Valdosta, Ga.Mr. Beam was preceded in death by his sister, Sara Kathryn Beam.

Jones II and his wife, Rhonda, of Newton; a son, Jerry Summerlin and his wife, Nancy, of Ashville; a daughter-in-law, Nora Summerlin of Ashville; one sister, Deloris Goodwein and her husband, Ralph, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; one sister-in-law, Betty Gaither of Ozark; grandchildren, Whitney Jones of El Paso, Texas, Kaylissa Mackey, Melissa Jones, Samantha Jones, of Newton, David Ray Summerlin and his wife, Donna, of Ashville, and Scott Summerlin and his wife, Jennifer, of Helena; great-grandchildren, Alex, Abby, Alyssa and Brittany Summerlin.
