Mollie Goodwin Beam

Mollie Goodwin Beam, 93, from Cutler, Maine, on February 22, 2005.M.Ed.She taught French, Latin, and English at Bar Harbor High School and Washington Academy for 25 years.Before attending the University of Maine she graduated from Smith College in 1933 and studied for a year at the Sorbonne in Paris.She developed a love for French culture and language and led the high schools' French clubs.She also coached junior speaking and cheerleading.In 1998 the trustees of Washington Academy presented her with their Distinguished Educator Award.
