  Professor Dave Bartram
  
  Professor Dave Bartram is Research Director for SHL Group Ltd, an international company which designs assessment tools, such as personality tests, job interview guides and questionnaires. Before taking this role in 1998, he was Dean of the Faculty of Science and the Environment, and Professor of Psychology in the Department of Psychology at the University of Hull.
  
  He has worked as a consultant with a range of national and international organisations, specialising in the design, implementation and validation of assessment procedures and personnel selection systems. He developed the MICROPAT computerised pilot aptitude testing system for the Ministry of Defence in the 1980s, which is now in use by two major international airlines. He designed and developed one of the first commercial PC-based computer delivery systems (SCREENTEST) in the mid 1980s. His specialist areas are psychometrics, computer-based testing and Internet assessment systems.
  
  Professor Bartram has been a member of national advisory groups concerned with occupational assessment and was a member of the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority's (QCA) Committee on Vocational Qualifications and Occupational Standards. He is a Past-President of the International Test Commission (ITC) and received the award for Distinguished Contribution to Professional Psychology from the BPS in 2004.
  
  He said: "The reliability programme interested me as it concerns test quality and the need to both assess quality and communicate what the metrics mean to the public."
