NHS Auxiliary president Virginia "Mike" Barton presented the check totaling ,115,000 to NHS president-CEO Dr. Daniel Werner during the Auxiliary's meeting Jan. 12 at the Seaford Golf & Country Club.

Mrs. Barton said lobby sales and sale of baby photos also support the Auxiliary, whose annual donations since 1953 have now surpassed the ,1.5 million plateau.

"Since that time (1953) we have contributed ,1,580,000," said Mrs. Barton.

The present NHS Auxiliary membership is 161, Mrs. Barton said.

"Members join and for the most part become longtime volunteers," she said."Each is a very special part of a very special organization."

"It's working," Mrs. Barton said."It's doing very well.
