SILVER SPRING, Md. -- Vinita "Nita" Hinds Barton, 85, formerly of Midland and Abilene, died April 12 in Rockville, Md. Services were held Saturday, April 17, at Pumphreys Colonial Funeral Home in Rockville, Md. Burial was held at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Silver Spring, Md.

She was born Aug. 4, 1918 to Mr. and Mrs. A.M. Hinds Sr. of Tye.She graduated from Abilene High School and graduated from Texas State College for Women in Denton in 1939.She worked for the Abilene Reporter-News in 1942 and married Lt.
