Today on the "Today" show, Teresa Barton, head of kentucky office of drug control was on there, as was this fellow from the company that makes those devices. She stated that this issue will come up in the January meetings and felt that Kentucky would follow the other states by outlawing the product. She said that Kentucky has twice the national average with inhalent abuse amoung the youth and that allowing this product would just compound the abuse problems. -

Teresa Barton, director of the Kentucky Office of Drug Control Policy, said records for the six months since that state restricted sales of pseudoephedrine products show a 70 percent drop in meth labs and a 62 percent reduction in the number of children involved.
