Andrew Barton Associate family lawyer based at the firm's Exeter office, has recently gained accredited specialist status in the area of advanced financial matters.This is the first accreditation scheme of its kind, and is seen as the most stringent test of expertise in particular areas of family law practice.
31 year old Andrew, who has been qualified since 2003, undertook his law degree at UCE, Birmingham and his Legal Practice Course in Bournemouth.He lives in Exeter having joined Stephens Scown in 2000.
Originally set up in 1999 and endorsed by the Government, Resolution is designed to help people who are facing family breakdown to make an informed decision about which lawyer to appoint.
To become a Resolution accredited specialist, lawyers have to agree to uphold the Resolution code of practice.Andrew completed a number of assignments involving fictitious scenarios and gave accounts of several cases he had acted in and the work carried out for those particular clients.
Andrew is the second member of the family team at Stephens Scown in Exeter to achieve specialist status and joins Mark Smith who between them offer expert advice across a range of specialist areas.
