Barton, a 6-foot-1, 195-pound senior from Omaha, Neb., held Fort Hays State to one unearned run on three hits to get a seven-inning, complete-game win Easter Sunday (April 8) for the Bulldogs.

He retired the first nine Tigers he faced (including logging his only strikeout) before allowing a single to lead off the fourth.One batter later, an error helped extend the inning and eventually allowed FHSU to tie the score on a fielder's choice following a walk to load the bases.

Barton allowed only two more hits and one walk, retiring nine of the last 11 he faced, before Truman won with a walk-off homer in the seventh.

Barton, who pitched just the sixth complete game in the last three seasons for the Bulldogs, is a graduate of Millard North High School.
