Carol Bartlett is the Artistic Director of Peabody Dance and a diverse and prolific choreographer.She received her early dance training in England and studied with German expressionist dancer Sigurd Leeder, protege of Rudolf von Laban and ballet master for the Ballets Jooss.She was a performer, teacher and choreographer in England and Switzerland before coming to the US.She initiated and chaired the dance department at USC's Community School of Performing Arts in Los Angeles; founded and directed her own company, Perpetuum Mobile; and was artist in residence at several California state universities before coming to Baltimore in 1988.

With Artistic Advisor Barbara Weisberger and Artistic Director Carol Bartlett, Stafford helped revise the Peabody Dance ballet curriculum and was appointed to the full-time faculty in 2002 and Ballet Program Coordinator in 2005.

Carol Bartlett, artistic director of Peabody Dance, the pre-college dance department of Peabody Preparatory, conceived the project because of Clarke's strength in collaboration.

"She's really unique.She's one of a kind," Bartlett said.

Carol Bartlett, the Chair of the Peabody Preparatory Dance Department, will teach Movement for the Stage in the first semester, as well as assisting with the major productions.
