Amy Bartlett-Bonner is certainly no stranger to the Georgia Southern women's tennis program, having spent three seasons as a team captain, playing singles and doubles for the Eagles from 2001-2003.Hired to take over the reins of the program on August 24, 2004, Bartlett-Bonner will enter her second season as the Eagle's head coach.
During her first season as head coach, GSU finished the season with a 10-13, (5-5 SoCon) record.Her squad received the team GPA award for maintaining the highest overall GPA out of all Georgia Southern sports.Bartlett-Bonner also placed four of her athletes on the TIAA-CREF academic honor roll.

Bartlett-Bonner saw her greatest success as a singles player in 2002, registering a 15-13 overall mark, including a 14-8 record at the No. 1 position.Her 10-4 mark in SoCon matches earned her inclusion on the All-Southern Conference team.
After spending her freshman campaign as a member of the nationally-ranked University of Tennessee squad, Bartlett-Bonner began her playing career at Georgia Southern as a sophomore in 2001 under former coach and current senior woman administrator Cathy Beene.

Prior to accepting the head coaching position at Georgia Southern, Bartlett-Bonner was employed as tennis professional at The Landings Club in Savannah.Hired in June 2003, her responsibilities included conducting private and group lessons, coaching the club's juniors' team, serving as junior coordinator for The Landings Club and starting the club's first organized youth program.Bartlett-Bonner is also USPTR certified, holding the top level of certification for teaching professional, a Professional Rating.
In the semester prior to her graduation, Bartlett-Bonner served an internship with Southern Boosters, helping to plan, coordinate and organize the annual Letterwinners' Weekend.She also served time as an instructor at the Nike Tennis Camp in Atlanta during the summer of 2002 and as an instructor with the All-Court Tennis Academy in Marietta, Ga. from 1999 until 2001.During her prep career, Bartlett-Bonner spent time as one of the nation's top junior tennis players, reaching the top 50 after finishing undefeated in her senior season of high school.
Bartlett-Bonner graduated from Georgia Southern in May 2003, earning a bachelors of science degree in sport management, with a minor in business.She is currently working on her Masters in Higher Education Administration.
