   Mr. Bartkowiak is the President & CEO of SCO Health Service.In this capacity, he acts as Secretary of the Board of Directors and is an ex-officio member of all committees of the Board.He is also an ex-officio member of the SCO Health Service Foundation Board of Directors and the Élisabeth Bruyère Research Institute Board of Directors.
   
   Jean BartkowiakPrior to joining SCO Health Service, Mr. Bartkowiak served as CEO of the Centre hospitalier des Vallées de l'Outaouais, a large acute care regional hospital centre; CEO of the Hôtel,Dieu d'Arthabaska, an acute care hospital affiliated with the Université de Sherbrooke; and Associate Executive Director at the Hôpital Laval, an academic health science centre specializing in cardiology and pneumology affiliated with Université Laval and serving all of Eastern Québec.He has also been Associate Executive Director at the Restigouche Hospital Centre, a psychiatric hospital serving northern New,Brunswick.The development of alternatives to acute care hospitals, client,centered program management, as well as client expectation management are some of the achievements that govern his managerial career.
   
   Mr. Bartkowiak holds a Master's degree in Health Services Administration, a Diploma in Institutional Administration, and a Bachelor's degree in Neurobiology.He is a Past-Chair of the Board of Directors of the Canadian College of Health Services Executives and Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors of the Association des hôpitaux du Québec.He currently serves as a surveyor with the Canadian Council on Health Services Accreditation (CCHSA).

   Jean Bartkowiak commenced as President and Chief Executive Officer of the SCO Health Service in January 2004.
   
   Mr. Bartkowiak comes to the SCO Health Service having held senior positions at Hôtel-Dieu d'Arthabaska (Victoriaville, QC), Hôpital Laval (Sainte-Foy, QC) and Restigouche Hospital Center (Campbellton, NB).He was most recently Executive Director of the Centre hospitalier des Vallées de l'Outaouais (Gatineau, QC).
   
   Mr. Bartkowiak holds a Master's degree in Health Administration from the University of Toronto, a diploma in Institutional Administration from Concordia University and a Bachelor's degree in science, neurobiology from McGill University.A surveyor for the Canadian Council on Health Services Accreditation, he chaired the Canadian College of Health Service Executives and was very active as a Board member and 1st Vice-President of the Board of Directors of the Quebec Hospital Association.
